SavannahBlue: Experience Upscale Soul Food in the Heart of Detroit

Everything we ordered was delicious—started with a mix of appetizers, then the fried chicken stole the show, and the sweet potato pie for dessert was the perfect ending. The atmosphere is low-key and cozy, a little dark but super inviting, and the staff made the night even better with their friendly, attentive service. Everything came out at a good pace, so we could enjoy the meal without feeling rushed. It’s the kind of place that hits all the right notes: great food, chill vibe, and staff that make you feel welcome. Honestly, it felt like a little hidden gem, and I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend if you want solid comfort food in a relaxed setting.

Everything was amazing. The culture, the food and the vibe. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the staff was very courteous and nice. The patrons nicely dressed. Few things bring me the joy of discovering a great restaurant in my adopted hometown of Detroit. Savannah Blue was a perfect take on Southern cooking. Flavorful, high quality, and priced accordingly, the great service only added to my experience. I will definitely be back.

I haven’t been in a few years but it was just as good as ever. Our table got the oxtail, the snapper (my brother ate well!), and the SB salad. It was so good! And special shout out to Stephanie for making my mom’s bday special.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our dinner experience. The food was delicious and the service was superb. Our waitress Sarah was very informative and truly enhanced our visit. I even got to take a selfie with her lol. The ambiance made us feel like we were the only ones there. And at the same time, it felt Warm and cozy. The price of the bill vs the food taste didn’t add up. The food wasn’t seasoned, the Mac and cheese was meh, and the yams and greens tasted like something you’d find pre maid. The fried chicken had zero seasonings on it. The only thing good was the fried fish. Service was great and the atmosphere was good as well. But I wouldn’t go here again.

This restaurant gets a 10 out of 10! Great ambiance! Food was absolutely amazing! Sarah, our waitress was very kind, warm, and attentive! The drinks were also on point! We will definitely be back! We had the whole red snapper and the catfish! Chef’s kiss! Sides: Savannah red rice with sausage, collard greens with smoked turkey, candied yams, and corn muffins! All ten out of 10! For desert we shared the sweet potato cheesecake! Totally delicious! Get here!! They won’t disappoint! Drink…blacker the berry! Amazing!

It was a very nice place. I went late and found the last street parking. Not a lot of food choices, they were out of a couple things but what I had was great. I'll be back to try more. It's quite expensive and you have to take stairs. I like it though and will tell others.
